we’ll do all that we can do to provide you with only the best instruction
in town.
Why BJJ?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the only Martial Art system that has been proven
effective in the real world over and over again for the past 80 years. Most
Martial Arts claim to be the best but have never really been put to the test.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been pitted and has defeated every other Martial Art
style in the world and producing the same results every time. No other martial
art style can make the same claims.
Take for example when Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was first introduced
in America, a man named Royce Gracie, who only weighted 176
pounds, defeated in one night three
larger and stronger opponents. This Pay-Per-View event titled "Ultimate
Fighting Championships" featured Gracie competing against Art Jimmerson
196 lbs professional boxer, Ken Shamrock 235 lbs Shoot Fighting and Wrestling
Champion and Gerard Gordeau 216lbs Kick Boxing and Savate Champion) using the
techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. UFC is where different styles of Martial Arts
wore pitted against each other using the minimal of rules; no biting, no eye
gouging, no time limits and no weight classes; everything else was permitted.
90% of all fights end up a clinch and eventually on the ground?
That’s right! Traditional Martial Arts that have their main focus on
punching and kicking and do not address ground fighting at all, or they have
very limited
knowledge of it, makes them very vulnerable and inefficient in a real fighting
situation.
Keep in mind that you’re only an arms length away of being in a clinch
and taken down to the ground. In boxing for example you’ll notice the countless
times when the fighters end up in a clinch and the referee has to break them
up. There are no referee’s in the street to break up the fight after the
clinch to save your skin. If you don’t back yourself up with the best ground
fighting techniques in the world, you’ll be left with luck on your side,
not skill. So are you still confident that you’ll be “lucky” enough
when it really matters?
Is it for me? I have a Black Belt in other styles of Martial Arts.
Absolutely! Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is for everyone. Beginners with no Martial
Arts experience and veterans of other styles are more than welcome to join
us! As
a matter of fact, most Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners have had some experience
with other Martial Arts.
